Each one of us has received a gift from God. Every gift or talent of any kind is a providence for us to thrive well and shine in our journey of life.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! It’s just a matter of time we have to acknowledge and set ablaze for his glory first, which would bring us contentment in our journey towards our Savior.
It is not a matter of excellence, but living it out for our Creator, who created us with a purpose.
I have come across some people who are yet to find their niche in living out their gift.
I’m not a good writer, but I write, to express myself which in turn help some. I not a good singer, but I sing to praise God. Also, I writes songs if my mind can’t hold it any longer.
Some have already led a good life, but did not give a thought about the particular set of innate gifts were in they have.
Our gift from God:
Acceptable, at some level, it is to say a broken vessel may not be fully useful. However, for the redeemed, we were on the path to restoration.
One may not be talented, just like me, but we still have our gift from God. In other words, we called it as talented as in what we can do.
Talent does come in various forms; the classification is for channeling, where it can be best used.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
Most of the time, people tend to get judgmental about others’ talent. We are all talented in the eyes of God once we use our gifts for his glory. I wanted to remind you of this:
You are talented!
More importantly, the spiritual gifts not only empower us but also often set us ablaze for God.
Living out our gift:
Whatever our gift is, and wherever we are recognizing our gift, although it might not be worth mentioning in this competitive world, we are serving our purpose as a believer.
Living it out, in a way that best suited us, would result in playing our role and fulfilling our existence in this vast universe.
As you know, we are just a speck of dirt in our galaxy. Yet God has a purpose in outing us here for now. Further, there is a specific purpose for every believer.
Faith as a gift:
Faith is not our birthright; by grace we can have faith. It is a gift from God.
In the world today, there are many conscious people, fully learned, who have found it hard to put faith in the Lord God. It is by the grace of God that we may have faith in him. The grace of God still gives us the free will to choose our faith.
‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10
A listening ear:
Fortunately and unfortunately, not everyone possessed this simple yet very valuable gift – a listening ear. Lending a listening in a groaning planet is sufficient to heal the suffering of others.
You may not be good at guidance, but a righteous listener, who does not gossip, is worth a million in this world.
It involves a spiritual understanding and discernment of God’s message and providence for you and others.
For a believer, A listening ear is also receptive to correction and instruction, acknowledging the need for guidance and wisdom., “Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.” Proverbs 1:5, 19:20
Be an encourager:
Some people, although they might not talk much, often inspire and support others, boosting their confidence and motivating them to achieve their goals.
An encourager offers positive feedback, acts as a mentor or coach, and helps individuals develop their skills.
They create a positive environment and demonstrate a genuine concern for others. It’s time you realized that if not. You can be using it valuably without even recognizing it. The gift of the Spirit.
More of the gifts:
It is better to now turn to the scripture for the lists of gifts we received from God. We may not receive many, but even one gift in the providence of God would bring glory to his name.
The spiritual gift of God must not hinder our daily life, nor should it clash with our innate talent. They are way above the thought of man – it is to each person according to their needs by the grace of God.
Further, it is more of setting ablaze for Christ the gift of the Spirit towards loving, caring, and humanity among his created beings. The more our gift is used, the more it adds the fragrance of Christ to our journey of life.
List of spiritual gifts:
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 lists various gifts distributed by the Holy Spirit, including wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.
Romans 12:6-8 also outlines gifts like prophecy, service, teaching, encouragement, giving, leadership, and mercy. Additionally, 1 Peter 4:10 emphasizes using these gifts to serve others as good stewards of God’s grace.
As stated earlier, it might not be a matter of excellence in the human aspect, but excelling for Christ through recognizing our gift.
The gift or gifts received through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are to be used for kingdom living in our pilgrimage till we reach the Kingdom of heaven.
In the end, it is my wish and prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ, that somehow you discover your gift for the glory of the Lord. Amen!
