The news yesterday, just before our church service, has saddened me. It was disheartening. Not only me, all those who were aware of it. The brutality of the killing in our native home shocked us. The hands of those who were walking in the light and who were not are dissimilar. It is my plight that such amount of brutality should discontinue taking place in days to come.
When violence hits the state, there is nothing left but to pray to my living God. I took time to plead guilty for our present and previous actions but also pleaded with him to not let us be humiliated before our enemies.
We settled in a place where not all people believe in the same God.
The act of the other might provoke the God of others. Sometimes, unknowingly the fight will no longer become ours. I did admit my imperfection and of my community. As a matter of fact, we have nothing to boast about before the Lord God.
However, the living God saw everything, and waiting for his timing is to trust in him. Yesterday, and many times, I wanted him to rush into my personal fight for life’s suffering when our neighbor turned sworn enemy.
Hear my plight:
The gravity of the killings and the way we suffer were better spilled out before God than here. I’m afraid as the people of the light, we might also commit such a heinous act among God’s creatures. I believe the Creator will take note of it.
Personally, I’m so bogged down by the news and the disrespect towards my brothers in Christ, the way their church and houses have been gutted, but more so when I think of our future generation. I understand there is a time of suffering and a time of victory.
Someday we, too, shall dance in the fragrance of victory when our enemies are put to rest, and we are delivered. Psalms 18
Spiritual Plight:
TO Simply put, there were two spirits – the holy spirit and the other. And you cannot have both of them. When we repent, confess, and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the holy spirit dwells inside us.
From that day on, the evil one is trying to destroy our flesh so that we may fall. Thus, we’re in a race as well as a fight till we finish the race of life or reach the goal. It is better to take stock of what is happening around us so that we see the dangers through the light of the spirit.
Thus, each day, each moment, we pray and listen to the word of God. There will be a dedicated group of people who are listening to the word of God, and there will be who fight the battle physically. Yet it always goes hand in hand.
What’s your Plight?
Every simple thing could be the strategy of the evil one near us. Those things which we took lightly in the beginning, become the stumbling block of our children and community as a whole.
Let me tell you something which I learned some years ago: Some group of non-believers tied a robe and put simple fencing around a tree. Then they did something strange in that place, which became a talking point for some people.
As always, the onlookers and hearers of what has took place split into two. One group dismissed it as nothing which could cause harm to others. And most probably did not seek the light of the spirit to truly find out what it signifies.
The second group knew something was wrong but did not speak out because they knew their voice would be suppressed. They simply avoid humiliation. Things come to pass. It was someone who already claimed the area by sacrificing. I would put it here to end.
It is imperative to live in the light of the Lord to see what is good and what is bad. We all were entitled to perform or follow what we find is good and true. Thus, the indwelling of the holy spirit will let us see things in the light of the Lord.
The plight in the light:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12)
“You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light” (John 12:35-36).
When we walk in the light, we will be able to make our plight in the light. Then darkness will soon vanish into thin air, and our plight will turn into joy!
