I am with you

‘I am with you,’ means having someone with us. Someone who never leaves in the midst of our journey in the hills and valleys.

We as a human can get lonely if we are normal. However, we hide, not because it is not very pleasant for others to know. We wanted to be with somebody at all times although it may not be possible physically, but at least on call.

Almost every Christmas, when I’m about to speak or scribble on ‘what Christmas means to me,’ it is and always was Emmanuel – God with us.

It was now and then I recall there must be a reason why this keeps ringing in my heart. I did not know beforehand what I was about to go through in life!

I considered it a weakness and shameful to tag myself as someone who gets lonely very easily, a person who is melancholic most of the time.

In the hospital room, the ICU, and the long stays thereby losing a huge chunk of time and mind makes me lonely at times. Lonely not because no one cared for me, but because it twisted my life, which is never like before.

By the way, I love being alone due certain reasons, but don’t really want to be alone. I simply can’t bear the hullabaloo and the pace of life. Especially when all news came into one to be digested by the mind and emotions.

There were times, even now, when I longed to be alone – to be left alone so that I could reflect on myself. But it becomes too self-centric although my health demands it this way.

God has to be with me or have to be somewhere around me even when I can’t see him face to face.

I will be with you:

“I will be with you …” Exodus.3:12-22

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy. 31:8

For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41
It is said that there were more than one-hundredth times where the Lord said ‘I will be with you,’ in the Old Testament itself.

God’s intention is always to be with us. His presence is always here with us.

Long before the birth of Jesus, around 700 years ago, that is 739-681 BC it was written, therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

The Lord intends to dwell among us forever despite our sins. However, it is our sin that keeps us away from him. Not exactly keeping us away, but he is making a way of having us in his arms. He loves us so much. We’re the apple of his eye.

I am with you:

In the New Testament of the Bible, ‘I will be with has been transformed into ‘I am with you.’

God is with us in human form, physically to those who lived during that era. They have seen Jesus Christ healing, the lepers, the outcasts, and all sorts of people.

It is the privileged people or learned people, in one way, who hate him leading to his crucifixion on the cross. However, his sacrificial death on the cross brings salvation to mankind.

The Lord abides in us, to those favored and who believed in him. Thus, I use the word abiding for this site reiterating God dwelling with me.

God is with me:

In my loneliness, in the ups and downs of my life, God is with me.

Thus, when I started putting together my own writing, I let go of other topics I had been on for a long.

The name abidings[dot]com came into existence a few months after my discharge from the hospital.

Abidings[dot]com meaning the Abiding Savior is with Siam Ngaihte. I know without the endless whisper of God, it is difficult to get by a day when we’re down.

My creative mind has been put on after my brain surgery. And I know it may not be the best domain name to pick by the way it sounded or for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

You can help me out in choosing suitable domain name if you’re willing.

“Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” is the last word of Jesus Christ after the Resurrection, and his ascension to heaven. Matthew 28:20

Abiding with us:

Loneliness is the way of the world. We became lonely very easily.

I got the aura, which is a pre-warning of my neurological disorder just by being a little bit melancholy.
It is something I’m still working on.

In this wide world, but sometimes very small depending on our interactions and necessary limitations on the work front no one has the time nor the understanding to listen to us.

You are not alone. And I am also not alone! Yet the world may not revolve just as I wanted.

God abides with us. Jesus has asked the comforter for us already:

“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:16-20

Dwelling in you:

It is God who is with us to let us do good works. Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit who works in you, dwelling in you, you dwell in Him. It’s about producing the fruit of what we have. Philippians 2:12-13

Despite circumstantial changes for a believer, it is for personal spiritual growth. The Apostle Paul’s time in prison, his weak eyesight, and the thorn in his flesh were for his personal spiritual growth.

Truly with you:

Jesus is our Savior from eternal death, John 3:16, our friend in times of adversity, our strength in our weakness, and the helper in all our suffering. We may not see him holding our hands, but he never forsakes us nor let go off his hand from us. We are safe in the hands of Jesus.

Living in his providence or trusting in him is the fulfillment of the purpose of his coming to earth in human form.

Furthermore, knowing his presence is the comfort of this earthly life. This Christmas, I want you to focus on the fulfillment of the promises He left before his ascension to heaven. The very name that Prophet Isaiah has foretold of God being with us.

Blessings & Merry Christmas!
