“Dad, are you tired of cleaning the house every day?”
As they watch me cleaning the house, they popped me the question. They are still young willing to help me. Yet I want to give them time. Their concern motivated me to do more.
“Sort of…..sometimes,” I replied. I want to hear more from them and know their reaction.
“Well, we could hire someone,” they continued.
I don’t want to dodge the question. I love talking with them.
“Oh, that’s the idea we’ve dropped some time ago,” reminding them that we did have someone to help us before. then, I help them recollect their memories for a few moments.
“Oh, I know….well, we’re growing up. So…”
“Don’t say anything yet…life will take its own course. By the way, if all my plans are going well we won’t be here like this anymore,” I continued as I’m more focused on my work now.
“For now, I’ll keep doing. This is one of those things I need to keep doing. It’s out of love,” I assured.
This is a reminder that there were certain things that we must keep doing, performing, enduring in life. Now let’s talk about a few of them.
All that is before us is not what we’ve planned nor what we have asked for. But Keep doing what is in our hands while living in the present is our priority. As one can see we cannot keep doing what we only wanted. Sometimes, we ended doing the other. But being able to perform or do what is before us is a great privilege.
At least one should try to keep doing pleasantly what lies ahead. In that manner, if we are found to be trustworthy we’ll move on in life. It covers almost all spheres of life – in our suffering, loneliness, happiness, and our pursuit of life in the yonder.
Keep Performing:
Some of the duties and things in life we need to keep doing. It is a service to you and me. And also a service to God by performing our duties. In the unlikely situations of life keep performing what you could for the Lord God.
Before the dawn of a new day, there are certain things we need to keep doing, be there patiently till further changes may come. The changes, which may ensue are to be expected as a pleasant development.
Many times, the much-anticipated changes aren’t pleasant either. Still one needs to keep performing what is in hand. Performing with love adds salt to whatever we do. I too knew it well that we often grumble at certain points in the journey of life.
Enduring seasons of Life:
The advice to not complain and keep suffering is very hard to digest. For someone who suffers every day is a challenge. One cannot demand a new day. Days are spent with pain and the feeling of being inapt to things around us.
However, we are not alone when we endure the seasons of life with the spirit of God.
Be there, keep suffering as these were not the path we have chose to be. But in the hope that it will bring a brighter future and glory to our God, we should be there still hopeful.
One should not get carried away in happiness and sickness. there were many things we need to keep doing, enduring even in happiness and sickness.
Keeping the Faith:
Keep the faith even when the road is narrow and dark. Do the things in your hand till a new sun has come. That, the time and place, only the Lord knows.
We can keep the faith because the Lord is faithful. He looked after his people –delivering them time and again over a period of time. Try to count although it’s innumerable the number of times God has been faithful in delivering you even in a day, a week for your underperforming mind, thought, and many more.
Keep Doing the Good Work:
Coming back to where I started I would like to highlight these few lines –
Keep loving the person
Keep loving what you’re doing
Our love is often limited although we stress upon an unending love. It hardly happens in reality. Yet it is there somehow.
The loyalty of our love has been tested by what is around us. Times are there when our love is determined by money, success, and the likes. However, loyal love is way beyond all these.
Our love for our children, wive, or husband, and our family surpassed all these things. Thus it makes us to keep doing good work with great pleasure. If all the works we do are as a result of love but not of greed and earthly treasure we remained contented.
Keep Rejoicing:
The situations we’re in might not be contentious at all. In my chronic sickness, I raised the “why?” question many times more than I expected. There’s hardly any will to rejoice once we keep focussing on our circumstances. To keep rejoicing seems unrealistic at times…
Philippians 4:4 told us to keep rejoicing always.
We aren’t commanded to rejoice in the condition of our nation, our culture trajectory, our struggle as a family, our job loss, or our poor health.
But we’re told to rejoice in the Lord.
Our thanksgiving and rejoicing are supposed to be rooted in our God.Then it makes the differences.
It is giving thanks to God the Father for everything, despite our situations and circumstances surrounding us, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Doing Good to the household of Faith:
The Bible teaches us to do good in any sphere of daily living but more to the household of faith. And that is how we should live. Let us read from Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
We already know who is included in the household of Faith. As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 In Christ Jesus, we become brothers and sisters in the household of the Lord.
Keep doing the good work not as an obligation but out of pure gratitude.
