Listening to the silence;
I want to hear from you.
As the raindrop touch me,
My face may feel your love.
Just as the leaves dances,
May we dance in the breeze.
The silence teaches your voice;
I’m empty being without you.
Just a human prone to fail;
A man unable to see through
The sinew of life without you.
I want to know more of you;
When my burning feeling runs
Down in my body to toes.
May my inner beings feel you
My nerves are going numb
Waiting for you to revive ’em
You never fail to touch them
####
Waiting for my meds to work
I’m only waiting for your comfort
When you rest my running thought
I’d sleep peacefully in your arm
Then whisper to me your love
I may regain strength in you
Analyzing happenings around me
In my limited capacity as human
I want to see your glory all over
That, I will train my heart nearer
As you saw my coming and going
Today and forever it will be!

Listening to the voice of you
In the rhythm of the Summer wind
Singing to the beat of the raindrop
Staring into the beauty of you
Falling in a trance of your love
I want to love you more.
Singing my heart out to you
Enjoyed your presence in silence
As I try listening to your voice
Although I’m so unworthy of love
Yet we commune in silence
O how sweet Your word is!
Listening to the Silence:
Very much in contrast to where I now lived for quite some time, I grew up in the countryside in the silence of day and night. The light breeze of air often touches the cheek, which I can still feel and hear the smell of it.
My days, during my childhood, was spent in the woods and the fields tending water buffaloes and keeping away the hungry birds out of the crops.
On the tiring and humid day, I’d often slept in the small elevated dry land between the woods and grasslands. They’re listening to the silence I’d heard the inner voice of me. I would sit up listening more as I measure the beauty of creation around me.
Sometimes I’m awakened by the foot-tapping sounds of the troops of ants or termite, which are huddling on dry leaves for an assembly. I have missed those small sounds capturing my mind more than ever.
The need for Listening in Silence:
In the silence of time, we can listen to something. We can listen and at the same time ignore the voice of God while the verses of the Bible kept ringing in our ears in the dearth of the silence.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35)
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15) “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
Listening While in Trouble:
Some years ago, I lay in the ICU of a particular hospital room for over a month. Here too I can listen to the silence again in which many words keep coming back giving it a thought although not advisable for me in those situations.
There were times while there is nothing left but to listen to the silence while in our good shape or till the time we reached a dilapidated shape. Some listen in the quietness of the isolated hospital rooms.
Some listened in the by the corner of the busy street thronged by people where they no longer perturbed by the noise of the city around them. We listened in a different place and situation and the cause and effect also get differentiated- some rises again while some fall deeper in the pit.
What do you Hear While Listening?
What did you hear while listening to the silence? If you hear yourself and your iniquities – not beyond you; then it’s time to seek your Creator and your Savior God.
Hearing too much about ourselves resulted in two ways: One, too much self-appreciation, which diminishes the prospect of divine intervention in our life. Further, it did not last long. Second, It gives a negative impact on our body by reminiscing our old inner foes.
However, the bright side here is that we can overcome the negative impact once we humble ourselves before the Almighty God. And he is ready to accept us with open hands.
You don’t magnify yourselves. Do not let the looming cloud of temptation looming over you. It cannot be done on our minimal strength but in the power of the still small voice if we listen closely to him.
The present situation, Covid-19 pandemic, and the past few months had offered us such a good time to listen to the silence.
Lastly, it keeps us hooked to the word of God. I’m not sure if you tried listening to the silence and what did you hear. Yet it’s worth trying….. you’ll hear the voice of God!
