It is quite fortunate and also unfortunate that we wanted to live a life delivered from the toxic nature of the fallen world.

Save us please:

Hosanna was an exclamation of praise, an acknowledgment of his authority that Jesus has the authority and power to deliver the world from the clutch of evil.

Yet it is true that not everything goes as we expected. The same goes for some of the people of that day and today.

Jesus was not establishing his state of authority in the ways of the world. His mission was to save mankind from perishing forever. In other words, it was to give and create a chance to live again. John 3:16

He’s come to save us, deliver us from the control of the evil who blinded us.

Save our relationship:

With the fall of man, our relationship has been cut off from God. All have sinned. Romans 3:23

Filled with sin, we no longer meet the standard of the Holy God. Thus, man has been driven out of God’s presence. Genesis 3

Yet this act of God has an upside to it. When God, our creator told Adam, “…since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Gen 3:19

Although God is talking about physical death, it paved the way for reconciliation with him because we shall not live forever with the impending punishment of sin.

Jesus came to mend the broken relationship. We’re given a precious chance to reconcile with him in his grace.

Being saved by grace:

More than 2000 years have passed since Jesus died to save us. Anyone who believes in it is saved and being saved to be with him in his glory. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph. 2:8-9

Yet we must remember his timeline is quite different from human. That is the reason why the people of the time found it hard to accept salvation. He is not yet here to set up a new earth, one day he will do so.

God has a greater mission in place, which is the deliverance of all the world and its created being. Of course, it included you and me.

Saved by faith:

Good works cannot save us. None can earn salvation. The price was beyond our reach. So, Christ paid for us.

Thus, the sad doxology of Hosanna has today been turned into praise.

Can he or will he really save us? Yes, our faith alone in the belief and proclamation of Jesus is the son of God will save us. Romans 10:9-10

Imagine you are there among the people who shouted Hosanna on the way to Jerusalem will you still doubt.

It is not just for some predestined people, we all are destined or chosen from the very beginning. Ephesians 1:4-5

Now, let us shout and praise in meditation joining the procession from Bethphage, Mount Olives en route to Jerusalem “Hosanna in the highest!” Matt. 21:1-11

Then he will save us; and cleanse our hearts to be the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit just as he cleaned the temple courts.

Save our soul:

On the stormy side of life, we wanted to find peace. A calm after the storm is always expected. But none have control of it.

We should not speak nor behave callously, as we might cause others to stir up the mind and peace.

Do not be tempted by the complete transformation as of now. We may go through the bumpy ride since life is like the untrained colt.

Personally, I cried out many times before the Lord God to save my soul. My journey hasn’t been easy so far, especially due to my chronic neurological disorder.

Yet if my soul remained hidden in the hollow of God’s hand, I could find inner peace from time to time.

However, this is how we’re on our way towards the kingdom forever where the saved, by grace alone, would rejoice honoring and bringing glory to the Savior.

Lord, save us

Lord, save us!
Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the LORD.
From the house of the LORD, we bless you.
The LORD is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
Up to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
Psalms 118:25-29
