‘went out in the waters
It was calm, getting better
Serene beauty befall me
Peace in the vastness of the sea
I went far cruising fuller plea
Then I saw a small tide.
The tide is getting nearer
It is getting bigger and higher
Still, I tried to keep calm
Yet in a moment I pleaded
The tide’s heading me.
Don’t turn the tide against me
Don’t turn the tide against me
If it won’t budge let me ride in it
Give me strength and the courage
To ride on where you wanted.
Let the storm raise me up
Yet within your provisions
Raise me to your refuge
To the Rock of salvation
I’m clinging onto you
My safe hiding place.
Today we were standing at the beginning of May 2021 by our standard counting days for the Covid-19 menace to end. The tide may last longer but we are in God’s hand.
Everything is in the Creator’s hand. One simply didn’t venture out on this earth. We were put on this planet by our Creator. It does have a purpose but not big as everyone’s in the perception of our earthly eyes.
What will be most satisfying will be performing our purpose whether small or big. The work of some people may never get recognized yet duly recorded in the book containing our name.
God knows us by our name. When we receive him in our heart our name is written in the Book of Life. Here I wanted to emphasize God knowing us and recording our name in the book of life has the insurmountable difference beyond our knowledge.
It is a matter of our eternal life- the significant part of one’s existence.
The Tide against Us:
The tide against us is the test of our journey in the water. Surviving it will give us more confidence. However, the tide hits us in our most unexpected situation of life. The tide will come against us once and many times in our life.
We are about to regain strength in those situations. Truly speaking, we can’t face a single and small tide without the power of God. When he holds s in his arm he gives us the strength to face it. He will surely pull us out in time.
Keeping Calm in the tide:
The hardest part in the strong tide against us is to keep calm in the tide. Those whose should is hideth in the Lord will remain calm. I don’t know what will befall us in the near future. Things are getting worst at this time of the hour.
For many, it will be our Eleventh Hour! Yet keeping calm in this situation is the secret we found in Jesus Christ.
If you had heard about the terrible news out of our country due to the SECOND WAVE of the novel Corona Virus, you know how helpless we were! Our boat anchored in Jesus Christ is our sure foundation.
I pray in our helplessness the Glory of the Lord will get reveal! To everyone whether believer or non-believer of the living God. Having received Jesus Christ in our heart keeps us calm!
The Tide is getting Nearer and Higher:
This is our situation right here. The tide, if it can be seen is near. By now we were in the wave of the pestilence. Distress calls are ringing on every nook and corner of the street. I don’t want to talk about the real-time health crisis we were in right now.
Yet by the grace of God, I do believe, this too shall pass!
For many, the glory of God will get revealed. As an entity with delicate flesh and body, we may or might not get destroyed in the tide. The tide can be more and less destructible than expected. It is in God’s hand. The question is whether we have God by our side. Do we accept his sacrificial love in our hearts?
Don’t turn the Tide against me:
So, we read from the WORD of God. My children read from the verses. I took it as my prerogative to minister for my family. Irrespective of my delicate faith, I asked the Lord to keep us safe in his hands.
I asked of the Lord to surround us with his watchful presence alongwith his flame of fire in this pestilence. For the Lord is our hiding place. And we do believe the Lord will keep us safe in his arms.
As I stand before the Lord pleading with him to surround us, taking refuge in his secret place, we place our lives in his hands. And we do believe he heard our prayer. Please don’t turn the tide against us!
Ride on the Tide:
I know we can’t stand against the provision of the Most High. Yet He never plans evil for his people. He is here with us.
With the Lord always by our side, he will give us the strength to ride on the tide. Riding with him will never harm us either. To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. Job 12:13 So, we rely on his counsel and his power.
The reasoning of my mind simply keeps me grounded. It takes away the strength. Analyzing the intensity of the persisting trouble we face right now is more than I could bear. Yet I hope by riding on the tide with him, my soul will benefit from him.
Within his Provisions:
Sometimes it takes time to know the provisions of God. Dwelling within the provisions of God despite what is happening around would be a blessing in disguise.
He will raise us up again to his safety in his time. Then looking back the tide would tell us the many wonders of the Lord. His righteousness we will know more.
But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God.” Acts 5:39
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ Isaiah 46:10
So, it is better for a man to stand on the counsel and understanding of God!
