I still remember when I enjoy humming to any song relating to “being free or yearning for freedom,” although I’m not so sure what the song is about then. The word “free” hypnotized me to some extent. Being free, by definition, means being able to act or be done as one wishes; not under the control of another. Today, my children, I have a few things to tell you about being free and using our freedom:
~1~
It is difficult, I understand, to live under the authority although they will never consider something bad to happen to us. Yet you have to learn living under authority in the house so that you’ll honor the commands of the Lord and respect the laws of the land. It is not losing freedom.
~2~
My children, I also understand when you utter your wish to grow up soon so that you’d be free like us – your parents. However, it’s just your perception. We have obligations to live with. But I’m not discouraging you either. It’s a big blessing to grow up and have a family of our own.
~3~
You are free. We’re trying to help you not to misuse your freedom. At times, you’ll feel the pain from the rod of discipline as we administer it upon you. But our prayer, you in our arms with tears, is our hope for a better future as we’re facing the world.
~4~
The true freedom we want you to have is the freedom that comes from God. Let Christ be your sure foundation. Freedom without foundation will wither away leading to your fall. You are free to choose your foundation, which will determine your future path.
~5~
Having a foundation of life will determine your course of living. You are free to choose whether to build your house upon “the rock or the sand.” We want you to prosper in life as long as it is good for you – till your foundation will hold.
~6~
I remember that particular place and time when you pour out your heart to God seeking forgiveness and accepting him as your Savior. One more thing, hold steadfastly onto your Savior. As a father, I would consider myself a failure if you’re a sinner. And, worst if you’re not repenting for what you have done wrong. I want you to be free or liberated from the clutch of sin.
~7~
Here is something very interesting in life, my child, that if you know who sets you free you will surely want to give it back to him. In that way, you will face challenges, adversities in life, which comes in different forms. But the best part is that you will get comfort and peace in our God. And then you will want to give it back to him in any way possible, but not beyond what you can’t.
~8~
It is never a burden to give it back to him. It’s not a burden and you are free to reciprocate the love you get from a person or from the abiding Savior. If you take it this way you will truly be free. I’m afraid you’d become the servant of toxic love. Love someone who loves you with purity and a sincere heart.
~9~
My child, I’m afraid that you are liberated nor nothing. Don’t misuse your freedom. We are prone to liberal thinking which might deprecate our output because of too much love. We are no more bonded by rituals nor practices. Yet we do things out of gratitude and love for our neighbor which comes from God. For he commanded: love your neighbor as yourself.
~10~
You are the steward of your life, my child. Stewardship isn’t a simple task; but with help from the Spirit, you will be able to keep up to what is expected of you. You are free to look after your life by fulfilling your dreams. Life doesn’t happen more than once. You are the steward of your God-gifted life.
~11~
How can you take help from someone you cannot see, once you wondered, looking for the answer to me. You are free to keep what is good for your heart. Let me tell you this – keep emptying your hearts to him. And, he will fill your heart with good things to take the right path.
~12~
You are free to decide whom you are helping and who you are not. Here’s a reminder though; don’t wait till you become rich to help people in need. It’s your life, you will take a call on it. Not only in this matter, but in doing good and bad. Your decision today shape your tomorrow.
~13~
My children, you are free to ask questions, any kind of questions, you may want to raise. I may not give you all the desired answers. But always come to me, I will answer them all. At Some point, you might even question what I’m doing with you and with my life. I could have done better. That too, I understand it will be better if we talk it out. You might not found your answer to all your questions. Time will reveal some of them while others our Father in heaven will reveal it to you in his time.
~14~
Measure your life by your freedom from time to time. One freedom, which you deeply admired, can lead you to lose a larger part of your freedom that you might not have realized at the time. Before knowing you might have been losing some part of it. It is good to appreciate the amount of freedom we are bestowed upon.
~15~
You are free to perform your duties and serve your purpose. Being free to do anything you desire might be costly yet the freedom to perform the basic structure of life is more than sufficient. Freedom without serving the purpose is useless.
~16~
Remember my child, no life is easier. It is the heart that is important. The heart that is set free will find comfort and peace in every situations of life. The world will squeeze you out to deliver the best in you. Go and face the world.
~17~
Being free doesn’t mean success at all times. No one is a failure if they did what is intended for them to do. Every life is precious before the creator. He always wants us to be free – not weighed down by circumstances around us. Look beyond today.
~18~
You will be questioned about how you enjoy your freedom. Don’t let freedom ruin you because it can turn against us. There’s nothing to lose if you remember the will of your creator. Gain wisdom from the Lord, all your decisions or choices will shape you. May your beloved, when you found one bring more joy to you.
~19~
You are free to love a person. Ask God to find the right person. First comes love, then marriage, and the bogies will follow. Marriage is about two people who are in love sharing their life trying to give their best to each other. Don’t make it complicated. As I’ve told you, I’m praying to God who’ll keep someone best for you. Also, I’m asking God to protect that someone since their childhood days.
~20~
You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. Eccl 11:9
~21~
My child, you are free. I want you to be free. Cherished it with care and more importantly be happy throughout your life. Enjoy your freedom for everyone to see for the happiness of your creator and your parents on this earth.
