Our younger days

Days filled with laughter, tears, and fun,
Echoes of a lifetime, have just begun.
Our younger days will become our past,
Yet a time of dreams, forever to last.

Endless nights with the stars shining
Lights of hope on a sun-kissed morning.
Hearts that beat wild with willful desire,
Spirits that danced with burning fire.

Chasing the wind, to seize the day,
Our footsteps marked a careless way.
Love and friendship going side by side,
In our hearts, innocence still resides.

Like a thief, time stole moments away
Leaving with all the memories to gray
Yet, in times of our nostalgic gaze,
We will again relive our younger days.

Now, as wisdom’s lines entwined us,
We cherish what was left behind us.
For in our youth’s unbridled prime,
There lies the beauty of life’s rhyme.

Our younger days or days of our youth are the most precious period of one’s life. Yet I also agree that as we age beautifully, we acquire more wisdom.

Bearing yoke while young:

In our younger days, we were full of energy, we wanted to conquer the world, we wanted to taste all sorts of the world.

We must indeed rejoice, but we should be disciplined, and respect the authority and people older than us. Meditating in the fast pace of life is not an easy task nor a getaway we prefer.

However, we do not know what life holds in the future. Thus, getting prepared is the only key to survival.

It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.
Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it on him. Lamentations.3:27-28

Personally, I thought my days were smooth, but I did not foresee what condition I was in right now. I may be destined to lead a life of difficulties, pain, and chronic disorder, which affect my goal despite my hard work.

I came to think of it lately in this way. My time in the prayer cabin was used to meditate on the scripture, which led me to Lamentations 3 in my younger days.

I do not know then that those verses will be the cornerstone of my life.

Reminders for young man:

Here I would like to put in, directly, some verses from the Scripture for consideration.

“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” Eccl. 11:9

“Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.” Eccl.11:10

“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near when you will say, ‘I have no pleasure in them.'” Eccl. 12:1

Deeds of our younger days:

All our deeds during our younger days will be brought to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or not. Eccl.12:14

Thus, I decided I could not be on the run for the rest of my life. I decided to lose some in my pursuit of righteousness, faithfulness, and happiness in the eyes of the Lord.

In our younger days, we should focus on and honor God while we’re still young and have the energy and vitality to do so before the inevitable challenges and difficulties of life set in.

Values of younger days:

We won’t be young forever. And, as we age slowly, we must focus on the importance of living a life that is meaningful and focused on God.

The measurement of the value of life is quite different from the perspective of the world and the spirit. It is our choice, as we were given the liberty, to value our days in which way.

Not everyone may appear successful, secure, and stable, but their yoke or difficulties make their life worth living on concocted theories of self-atonement.

“Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity,” Paul’s advice to his protégé. 1 Tim. 4:12

Enjoy your younger days! Yes, We could be young forever in the right mind and spirit!
