Is God Good (Good is Not God – 2)

One morning, as I returned home after I dropped my children to school, I saw a young girl in school uniform, must be in her preschool, holding tight to her dad. The rain was pouring over us.

If I am going by what my eyes have seen, they seem to lack good transportation. It may be because they are a bit lower financially. Here in the city, especially among the caste and veil system thinly existing, one can tell at some level.

The child’s school uniform must be clean when they started out. They were forced to walked on the dirt filled pavement with heavy downpour from above. The concrete road for them was occupied by the snarling traffic due to the rain. The pavement was not in good condition either.

The tireless honking horns and strong language coming out from the people comfortably sitting inside their cars didn’t bother them much. They walked side by side in a slow shamble. The potholes are threat to their lives.

The caring father tried cleaning her daughter several times. He tried his best to lift her up and whispered to her things I cannot hear. Then, I saw her daughter smiling through the tears she had.

When the traffic opened everyone’s in full gear fearing to stuck again in the traffic jam. I too had to move with fellow drivers. There was no place for me to stand on the side and since people kept honking behind my back.

But what I saw in that short span of time was them get splashed by the water on the road. The little girl and the slim father were in my mind although I drive away. Will they go back? That I don’t know. If good is God they may have hardly anything to worship.

Depending on our perceptions and what we been through some of us would find God to be good; while others may not find it as yet. Let’s keep on discussing more of it here.

Is God Good?

I don’t know whether they believe in God since I don’t have the chance the talk to them. But if they had what will they think of him? What will you think of it? Why is their situation so poor among fellow citizens?

It is hard to say for me, but as the father whispered something to her ear, she’s felt good because she’s smiling. Even in that situation they manage to smile.

As I too got stuck in the muddle of traffic, I saw what was happening before me. I don’t know what had happened to me but it choke my heart. The situation was similar to me in some ways. There was no good thing in life, many times, beyond reached. But to say God is good, in this circumstances from the heart is a blessing.

We may not see the work of God, at times, yet he still working for our good. It can’t be neglected. The unseen works matters more than what we can see before us. Several times it’s better that way to lead a normal life.

Interventions of God:

Some lives are never easy to live. They tend to suffer in almost every ways but they have bigger heart, love, and more. They saw the goodness of God more than the person leading normal life.

The person with normal or some comfortable level of living tend to think about life and God – the giver of life when it’s too late. In kindness or in things we can’t understand, God intervenes in our life.

With no names to remember, a name that might not be registered; but registered with heavenly records. it is way beyond the good things we saw here on earth.

With the will to move forward to see more of the goodness God, in what ever situation we may be, let us welcome each new day, each year, and all seasons of life to come. It seems late yet Happy new year to you!

Receiving Equal Good:

God’s way of rewarding good was hard to understand. One need to work for him; have the dedication to work for him, and follow his commands. Some started early; some slow in the vineyard of God but they receive equal pay.(Matthew 20)

There is never any discrimination of workers in the field. But it is the workers who can be jealous among themselves, which might lead to unnecessary scuffle.

God wanted us to have equal good but that is not the way we wanted. We envy, despise, destroy, and omitted people from their share of goodness from the Lord. And that will not serve us good.

We may go through different phases in life but we will received equal pay or goodness if we remain truthful in our faith.

The Greatest Goodness Revealed:

The greatest goodness of God was revealed on the cross when Jesus Christ – the Son of God died for all of us.

It is God himself offering his son for us to set us free. And it is for all people to the ends of the earth. We worship God for his goodness and give thanks for all the good things he did for us.

He is good and his love endures forever!

God’s Abundant Goodness:

We should not simply the focus on the good things but on the giver of the good things. Good things may end; bad things, harsh times may come, but God is always good to those who trust in him.

Let God be our anchor of life; he will hold us in tempest toss. To the one who is faithful as he is, God is faithful; he will shower goodness upon him.

Seek refuge in the Lord in times of adversity (Psalms 31) –

How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.
In the shelter of your presence you hide them
from all human intrigues;
you keep them safe in your dwelling
from accusing tongues.

Take time to thank God if he is good to you!
