A Gift: What have You Done With It?

Our boy is playing a role in enacting the nativity story in the Inter-School Competition in which his school was participating. His mind was pre-occupied with the gift to be given to the newborn Savior as we were busy putting on his robe which would suit him for the role he was assigned.

“Which of them would be more happy to see baby Jesus, in human form, for the first here on earth – the Shepherd or the Magi?” I asked.
“Both of them – first-time visitors – would be happy,” he replied diplomatically.
“But which one of them?” I insisted.
“I think the shepherd… I think…they were told by the angels in the open. They believed what they were told, they found the baby in the manger. And, they worship him!”
“What about the magi?”
“They leave a trail of blood behind them!”
His answer is short and to the point.

A gift from God:

The baby in the manger is a gift from God, He will save his people from their sins. The birth of a Savior has been long overdue and the wait is long. The messengers of God had foretold the coming of Christ as Isaiah did; “For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”(Isaiah 9:6)

while the shepherd waited in the wilderness outside the City. they saw greater things from God. Christ is for all. wait no longer. at one point in life, everyone will know him, even outside other religions. he will do what he will. none of our business – better listen to the preaching as did the messengers of Malachi, Isaiah, etc. simply wise. way to God God everyone, at their own manifested level

A Gift For All:

The celebration of the newborn king renewed our hope in the world where we are without refuge blaming everything on nature whether it be disaster or beautiful creature.

Jesus Christ is not among the huge name the world has expected. He had done his purpose of saving mankind bridging the gap between mankind, who were ruled by the dark by bringing them light, and God. And this is the greatest gift we received from the son of God.

Christ has given us the way back to God. He said, “ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:7-8.

There is no greater gift than it!

What Have You Done With Your Gift?

The Shepherd worshiped him for they have seen the rejoicing heavenly host who was praising God. It is recorded that “When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.” Luke 2:17-18.

The shepherd spread the word concerning what had been told about the child. This is why although I’m in my least knowledge, experience, and not worthy in the eyes of the Lord to spread the Word, I kept on writing with my limited circumstances around me.

Those who met him or saw him what he has done for them had something to say about him. And they keep on spreading the word.

What About The Magi?

I don’t want to talk ill about them. They are wise men recorded in the bible. Yet they leave a trail of blood behind them. Nor are they recorded of spreading the good news. When we search him with our worldly wisdom.

My children quip, “ Maybe they don’t read the Bible. Had they read it, they will go straight to worship him.”

Although it was to fulfill what was said through the prophet Jeremiah, I would like adding the remarks of my young kids as well. Searching for evidence ad proof is the norm in our age today. Matthew 2. they met him. they are happy but leave evil of destruction.

Knowing and worshiping Christ isn’t enough, we must let him abide in us!

Troublesome Gift:

Some of us, I bet, used to receive a gift which we don’t exactly know the good use of it. Since it’s from some special or from someone who lovingly gifted it to us, we had a hard time treasuring it.We need keeping away from dear friends at times!

For many, the gift of God through Christ Jesus resembled that way. It gives them restraint from their once enjoyable sinful ways. It is for equality of the message, all people. Some will lose from it while some will get uplifted in his love. We are one in the eyes of the Lord God.

What is it with you? Does it simply trouble you? Have you found it so difficult to walk with him because he is so faithful? Yet in the long run, our losses will turn into our crown when we met him.

There are many who had heard about the salvation of Christ. But for many, it is just a matter of sparks in their walk of life. It is something that they met on their way to everlasting death. Yet he is the way back to the restored Garden of Eden where we will eat from the tree of life.

The lowly shepherd might be missed out of the privileges if the coming of the savior is for the higher sections of the social hierarchy. The greatest of all gift is eternal life.

A gift: healing for all nations

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise.

And when I’m healed I’ll have peace within me; When I have peace inside me; I’ll have peace with my surroundings.

Finding the way…..way to God. It is so shallow yet so expensive.

Here, these verses, in my mind, summed up our status before and after the coming of Christ:

Jeremiah 17:5-8

“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched place of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

What have you done with it when it’s the greatest gift of love to mankind? I hope it turns around your life for good at once. If we waited closely, it is having a friend who walks with us in all circumstances of life.

  1. Yes, asking this question, What have you done or will you do with Jesus? It is a matter of life and death. The only sin that cannot be forgiven is rejecting Jesus. Once rejected and death comes you are locked for eternity without God. Keep asking the question brother- it is of upmost importance always!
