Almost there!

I don’t want to be there ending up just so close to my dreams! Have you ever been there? Over and over again, I’ve been there several times. Yes, almost there!

So, I keep dreaming. I’m just a dreamer; a dreamer with hope!

In many of the competitive exams I have appeared in, I hallucinated in the exam room and in my workplace. Beginning from high school to university, marks/points were not on my side, I’m always a mark or two shy of a good grade and securing a job. And, by the grace of God, I did manage to secure a regular job, which I had quit now for some years.

Recently, well this month and before, I was almost there again – to my dream of pursuing a degree course in theology. It somehow saddened me as I have to withdraw my application because it takes a toll on me and my health.

However, I still hope things will materialize if it’s going to happen and in its own time. So, I keep pursuing free online courses to thrive deep into the word of God. One thing is important; I must not lose hope.

My situation might improve in a good way, but I’m almost there to fly my dream again! So near yet obligations, health, and financial issues pulled me down for now. Yet I know this is not the end.
It’s just that I felt I have been holidaying, to use a lighter word, with my family at home for quite some time now. My thinking brain still tickles, by the abiding grace of God. And, I don’t know how many times I still had in my lifetime. I wanted to do more for the glory of God.

Moses; Almost there:

The biblical Moses is one of the greatest leaders we read about in the Bible. God had anointed him to be the leader of his people. Although Moses himself admitted he lacks the character of a leader, the Lord still uses him.

He was almost there, reaching the Promised Land. However, the Lord told him that he would not set foot there. The Lord gave him a glimpse or a bird’s eye view of the promised land to him. He is almost there!

It was then that Moses wrote Psalms 90. He looked at everything from an eternal angle. That, we will talk about in the next post.

What is there?

There is light. Light is the enemy of darkness; darkness will be defeated. I will be in the light. Light will be with It will shine; I will shine in his grace. Jesus is the light. I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12

This is what I know is there. I’m almost there!

But here on earth, I wanted to do more for God and for myself. No, for everyone around me. I could be one of the springs of the living water through which Jesus would flow through me. Not for me, but for my savior and my Lord.

In that way, I will feel my reason for passing my time here is completed.
There is life; Jesus is the way of life. Without him, there is no life.

Abner; Almost there:

Abner was the cousin of the first king of Israel; King Saul. He was also the commander-in-chief of the army. Joab took him aside to the gateway of Hebron, one of the Cities of Refuge. There he was slain by the sword. He has deceived King David according to the text. Yet He was so close to safety when he died. 2 Samuel 3:22-39

David lamented, “·Should (you) Abner die have died like a fool?  Your hands were not tied. Your feet were not ·in chains (fettered). ·You fell as one falls before t the hands of evil men.”

Jesus is almost there:

In today’s world, Jesus is our refuge, let me reiterate He is the city of our sanctuary.
Jesus was almost there when the centurion’s servant was healed. In other words, Jesus is near the house because the centurion considered himself not worthy of Jesus’s visit. But he has a very strong inclination toward the power of Jesus.

“Lord, don’t trouble yourself, because I ·am not worthy do not deserve to have you come into my house. That is why I did not  consider myself worthy/deserving to come to you myself. Luke 7:6-7

It takes humility and faith to see the power of Christ. We may not see him face-to-face now, but he is very much capable of performing what is good for us. There is power in the name of Jesus! We may not see him, but his power never fades.

One day, in His time, I’ll be there!
I’ll be there with you; I’ll see you
But now I’m fine being almost there!
Your presence is more than enough for me!
