Lay it bare your heart

Lay it bare your heart
It has caused you harm,
Yet it’s not an easy matter
You hid your emotions long
Longer than you can’t forget

And I have to appear happy
On the dining table as before
Your duties you can’t leave
Just live along at your best.

Lay it bare your heart
None may listen to you
Yet you know who listen
Lay bare your heart to him

Lay it bare your heart
It’s your worst part I know
Yet lay it bare your heart
No one may understand you.

Lay it bare your heart
You can’t live that way along
Break the barrier somewhere
Just went along; care for none

Lay it bare your heart
All your cuts and wounds
Are waiting to get healed for long
One by one, your Savior’s listening
Lay bare your inner self to him.

Lay it bare your heart
Nothing you can hide along
You demote yourself along
And all living nearby you
Lay it bare yourself now.

Lay it bare your heart
What a privilege it would be
To have someone listening to you
And no one has that privilege
Lay it bare of your heart now.

Lay it bare your heart
I know it isn’t easy to trust
Never easy to get a listener
We all live in our world
And our hearts have no choice.

Lay it bare your heart
All to Jesus who’s the best
He’ll listen and will guide
No one like him on this earth
Till the suffering world ends.
