Lost In My Own Mind

Getting lost in my own mind
My eyes deceiving me worst
Bungling in my familiar places
My body fainting abruptly
Drooping me on the floor
And I sat alone as I saw none.

All sounds echoing from afar
My kids chatting at a distance
The gong sounded inside me
Tingling me fear over my body
Just as planes hovering over me.

Bring them to ruin suddenly
Struck them down in their snares
For, You are above all things
They will fear you in your reign
They won’t harm me again.

On my bed I remember you;
I have been thinking of you
Through the watches of the night
Because you are my help.
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you; my Savior
Your right hand upholds me.

Even when I’m lost, you’ve comforted me with your words. For me, to read and meditate again when I regain my conscience. Times are there when I become funny – not by my humor but of my lost mind.

Gloomy days turn into dark and deep nights
The mystic beauty of my loved ones blurring
Yet it’s for a short span of time till today
Simply getting lost in my own mind
In the thickets of my chronic sickness
For the day, claiming victory in your Name!

About the Lost Mind:

This note is based on the notes that I had dictated to my seven year old boy in my semi-conscious state two weeks ago. At that time, I was recovering from partial temporal seizure. I am glad that I have my thoughts in the comfort of the Lord even in those dark days.

The beginning of the notes seems to be my state of mind at that particular time. We are having guest who dine with us on that day. However, and sadly, I was unable to enjoy the warmth of their company. Yet the photos taken after dinner shows me in a happy mood.

The final part, or second last stanzas, of the note is a prayer and claiming victory in the name of God. Since we were still human the beauty surrounding me are the things I have missed in my mind.
