Silent Days

The days are silent,
Loneliness is in the air.
How can someone sing
Wearing a mask in the open?
The dearth of silence
Revoke the melancholic
Instincts of the man,
Who is listening to them
The silence of the day.

Call ’em birds to sing again;
Call’em children to play.
Oh, what has befallen us
Go back to your faith.
Oh, people of the earth
Think of what have we done
And what are we gonna do.

The days are silent,
Can’t you feel it too?
O Lord, come to rescue us
We’re helpless in this world.
Only you bring us happiness
We won’t lose hope yet
Better days will prevail.

Morning are dull nowadays,
Do they also bore suffering?
Children are not in the park;
In the streets and alleyways
There’s sadness in the air,
No one is to be seen.

###

The days are silent
Yet you can hear whispers
Voice of God in our heart
Brought us peace in times.

  1. Love you capturing of the silence as we go about wearing masks. I just posted a blog about prayer and how we can reach out to God in prayer, He is accessible and He hears our cries for help and mercy. Let us go before Him and plead for mercy that He would lift this plague just as He removed the serpents in Numbers as Moses prayed.
