It’s about to rain. The weatherman, this time, seems to get it right. The crows are cawing in despair as winds are blowing their homes in the trees. The cawing sound and despair look of the city scavengers set an alarming intuition in me.
Everyone I saw were moving as fast as they could. People going to offices, daily wagers, and almost everyone tries reaching their destination before it might rain. The scene somehow get me dismayed; for the helpless people are running for a safer place in chaotic atmosphere.
Some people seems to get lost; deciding which way to head – going back home or moving forward. Some have no choice but to move forward with the little bag in their hand as a shield from the dirty wind.
As for me, I am gazing out from my window to get fresh air, to see whether a huge thunderstorm is on the way. My children are out to school already and I’m perturbed by their safety as always. We’ve prayed before they’re gone so I try gathering a calm heart.
The three parrots sitting in the on top of the leave-less tree is another sight that took my attention. They looked calm; no movement I can see from them. They are not disturb by the cawing and squeaking sound of others.
The parrots did not talk to each other although I’m not sure how they commune. They remained silent throughout until one pulled the plug and they flew in a jiffy hiding in the nearby building. There they play with their beaks upfront.
Now I close my window to get inside, which heavily shutdown the outside noise. I too get more calm but a deep thought on my life and the people around me keeps on running inside me. Till the warm blood flows in the veins of ours we’d remain obligated; yet we may not taken good care of all our obligations.
Do Not Be Far:
It is no secret man gets lonely very easily. Some are more prone to it than others. Some weaved together the situations, of the past, and what people are saying to us. We are weaker than others although I’m not accepting defeat as yet.
When I’m in chaotic scenario, my mind simply goes so slow whether to wait for the rain, walk in the rain o to go back. I get stuck unnecessarily. When everyone’s moving fast, it becomes an arduous task for me to accelerate.
There are times when I literally cried alone, which gets me relief, yet that’s not the end of it. I asked help from the Lord and he lead me thus far. “Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no help,” I pleaded in the words of David. (Psalms 22:11)
Cloud Looming Large:
I remember when I was among the office-goers or having a proper workplace. The weather condition does not matter to the work we are going to perform. So we moved fast as we could to get to the workplace.
Even when problem are looming large in the home, we try making and reporting to work despite everything. And that’s the way we should be. Some are blessed to work while some are not; yet I believe we all have a purpose in our way of living.
For a lifetime too short we want to eat well; we want to dress well, wanting to accumulate some. It’s for survival; it’s for keeping the trend, it’s for keeping a good image in society, it’s for caring others, it’s towards public good.
Even the weatherman did go for work even though they give their presentations. With the intensity of competing we set our goals, sometimes not knowing what is before us. Only God can guide us and protect us on our path of life.
Come Quickly For Help:
Waiting is the hardest part of everything in real life. Sometimes I afraid my God miscalculated the timing; he might be late. Not in this lifetime good things are going to happen I may say although I’ve seen insurmountable goodness of the living God.
The body is weak; the spirits’s weak as well. The evil one’s hovering over me when I try straightening my path. The enemy encircles me; I have no strength in me to go on. I might not last long. My body’s in pain and you know me and my needs.
Come quickly to help me, lift me up again, You are my strength. Do not be far from me although I may have sinned against you. Come quickly the winter winds are causing pain in the head; give me relief, let’s pour out my heart to You. (Based on Psalms 22)
The Cawing Crow and Parrot:
I don’t know why the crows are cawing. Yet when they are in large number it got me alerted. May be if it rains heavily, their scavenging food on the ground might flow away or may be their nesting place are going to get hit if the branches of the trees fell again.
They are in groups, they could have bored the misery calmly. But some are not like that. It helps them if they cry out. When there’s too much inside us, it hurts us. But to the Lord we can say everything now in his grace in the work of Christ – making us his subjects.
It reminded me of the scene in the Bible (Matthew 8:26) where the disciples fear for their life even though they are with their teacher. They fear the boat will sink, it’s the way they see it, as it could’ve been mine as well. But the teacher rebuked the winds and the waves and it went completely calm. Their little faith exposed.
The parrot on the other hand are sitting quiet although they have no shield against the last winter wind. May be they knew it’s not going to happen very often although the wind is cold. Spring is coming and they will sing in gaiety when spring season comes.
“For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” (Psalms 22:24) They know they are of the Lords. They will suffer today but not forever. It’s the way to trust in the Lord.
Our living and places may not be leafy nor green as always; yet in the windy and hullabaloo of life the leave-less tree standstill. It comforts the heart until the windy days are over. And when spring arrives, it will show a new life; blooming into a place where everyone wants to take cover from the burning sun.
Amen! Whether He calms the storm or calms us in the storm, He always gives us His peace. God bless you brother!
