Fruitful Life

Not only me, in our life whether long or short we want to live a fruitful life or lead a life which might be fruitful in our after life. A fruitful life is not defined by longevity nor the brevity of it.

I do believe with sincerity you have your way of defining it too. For that our way of perception will vary and different in its secular and spiritual ways, following the good and bad times we face in life.

Four years ago when I started writing here, creating my own space, after I served an ample amount of time at the hospital. It is to extend the chance of leading a fruitful life as I discovered it in the hard way that life is short, which could end in seconds or minutes.

I’m not sure if I may touch some lives. Still, I want to be fruitful for my Creator, I’m still learning. With a passion for the word of God, I try my best in my dilapidated condition of life. When I really started putting it out here, my condition is indescribable and uncertain.

But I want to do more for someone like me. The fluctuations of our emotional ride due to a certain disorder  is both encouraging and discouraging.  I do believe my small outpour might serve as a tool for other visitors to see the truth.

As a former Sunday school teacher who volunteered for some time in our local church, I’m not sure whether I planted the seed of faith in some lives to bear fruit. Time will tell, I follow them in my mind and prayer. They’re big now.

The rampant pandemic, which we face this year and last year took young lives. One I know of a young Sunday School teacher, she went to the Father today. I think her life here on earth is short but appears fruitful to me. I can’t judge the Lord will evaluate the situation.

My dear brother and sister, we may not necessarily hold a position in the church functioning yet we are called to live a fruitful life for him. We still have good a time to introspect our perception of discipleship.

In what form and ways, is your chance, that I don’t know. You might be helping people, preaching, witnessing wherever you are. These are a few of them. It’s the passion and compassion towards others that counts.

Here in my capacity as a small-time writer and parent at home, I can’t do much. But there is the positive side of it. I need to worry less about organizing or meeting the requirements of the law.

So, I need less fund/capital, which makes me not beg although I seek real-time help at times – being sufficient in God’s grace.

How to live a fruitful life?

1.Be the good soil

In the Parable the Sower, Jesus told about the sower whose seed fell on different ground or soil as he sows them. Matthew 13:1-9 Some of the seeds fell on stony places, in the wayside, among the thorn, and the good soil. Some seeds fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Keep nourishing, your life with the word of God.

2.Remain in Him

We should remain in him. One doesn’t know our timeline. So, remain consistently in him. Jesus Christ is the vine and we are the branches.

” I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. ” John 15:5.

3.Trust and Confidence

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17;7-8

4.Chosen and appointed

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16

One must grow in Christ. In the context of the Jews, being the children of Abraham one must grow in faith. Matt.3:8-10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. They will no longer bear fruit.

Repent for our sins trying to live a worthy life in the eyes of the Lord each hour and day will lead to a closer and fruitful life for the Lord. Repent every day of any sin you committed, no one is perfect. Yet we became his chosen one through his sacrificial work, which cannot be repetitive because he lives.

5.Walk for the Lord

That you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. Col 1:10

6.Rejoicing in the Lord

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls yet I will rejoice in the LORD, Habakkuk 3:17-18

A joyful heart amidst the barren days is the true strength of a disciple. Such a soul will surely get strength from the Lord, enabling them to tread on height, which in turn will lead them to a fruitful life. For they will see him/her bearing fruit even in the most unexpected times of life.
