Check Our Connection

As if it weren’t enough of our struggle to ease passed my living with neurological disorder, we were ambushed by this SARS-COV2 early this year. With no newspaper delivered at our doorstep, we have to maintain a good connection with the outside world via the internet-based media platforms.

By now everyone is well aware of the novel Coronavirus. The subsequent impact of the Covid-19 pandemic led us to changes in ways of our living.

For our children, online classes and live classes become the new medium of teaching, which means most of the primary teachings and arrangements were made by the parents.

“Check our WiFi Connection,” my son reminded.

Today their class teacher is conducting live Talent Shows. We don’t want to miss out on it. The slotted time for him is coming fast. So, I check our connectivity and told him to be ready for it. Our almost worn-out WiFi router could easily develop a technical snag. If there is a drop in the speed of the internet our live classes would be disturb.

Now, their Live talent Show has started. He seems nervous. But he told himself, ‘this is it, you have to do it.’ So he took a deep breath; let go of his stiffy nerves when he began singing the song we had been practicing.
In the end, he asked me what do I think of his performance. I told him that his grading will prove it once the school re-opens. His teacher encouraged him by saying he did well.

Check our Connection:

As you’ve already known, we are not simply performing before God in our daily life. We are spending time with him.
Our connection, in other words, relationship or communion with God is not one-sided. It is a two-way connection. First, he connects with us so that we may connect with him in the spirit.

Our God is the provider of life – making the channel for connection with him freely available through the work of Jesus Christ mount Calvary’s cross. On our free will, we are to connect with him if we put our faith in him.

Maintaining Good Connection:

It is important to maintain a good connection with our families or with our roots. We often refer to them as our folks. Our folks are our roots and when we fall our folks will take care of us.
None of us simply stem out from branches of the tree or decay leaves like mushrooms. Even though Evolution Theory takes us back to the monkey. At some point in time in our life, we wanted to be alone but the reality of survival lies in keeping good contact with our roots.
Now, this is a little way of stating the importance of knowing our earthly roots. And for now, let’s leave it at that.

Ways to Maintaining Good Connection:

As you are well aware now, we wanted to talk more about our spiritual connection with our Savior while we are still living on earth.

  1. By holding onto his teaching we stay connected with him.

Although the text is about disputes over whose children Jesus’ opponents are, it stated ways of connecting with him. John 8:31 reads – “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

  1. By living in the spirit we can now call onto the Lord as our own Father.

Our connection is of a father-son relationship since we received Jesus Christ as our Savior.
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings so that we may also share in his glory. (Romans 8:16,17)

  1. Being the Holy Spirit interceding for us.

When we do not know how to pray. In other words, we can’t even get the word right nor did we know what our needs are before the Lord God, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. (Romans 8:26-28)

Inseparable Connection:

Most importantly, I wanted to finish this short post with the assurance that we have an inseparable connection with God once we truly open our heart making room for Jesus Christ and the abiding presence of God inside us. His abiding presence gives us victory even in the spiritual battles we don’t deserve to win. We became more than conquerors through him who loved us.

As the apostle Paul stated in Romans 8: 38-39:

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In my conclusion for today, Let me remind you to always try to maintain a good connection as a believer; work hard, prepare well while we have time, and finish well when the time comes.
