Free Indeed

If you are set free, there is nothing else more to do than enjoying your freedom. Yet some freed persons don’t want to move forward.

Once we have an unwelcome guest, we keep it a few days for our children. It’s a squirrel – we named her Squeaky. We don’t mean to trap her yet she is beyond her boundaries, maybe in her innocence.

She, we called her she as my children were convinced it’s she rather than he, reminds me of the path we been taking especially in the early days of life. The grass on the other side always looks greener. And the stolen fruit taste sweeter.

In the meantime, we happened to venture out into the trap of the evil slayer. It is an act we enjoyed it a lot, which on the other hand will consume us if we’re unable to wake up from the clutch of the trap.

The evil slayer took pride in taking us in his stride. Since we are living the lifestyle we hideously wanted to live, it takes time to wake up from it.

Some of us had been tossed around like a show in the circus.

Unwilling to be free:

It’s like saying, ‘don’t set me free yet I feel free to be here. I’m well-fed with my choice. This is independence. I can’t see a better life than this.

We set the squirrel free, taking the permission of my children, yet she did not simply move out. She stayed there in the balcony. had to remind her that she was free indeed.

Some of her mates need to pick her up. Two of them actually turn up to pick her up. It’s a great joy watching them back to their own self.

Some of us are like that only. It is the work of the evil spirit hovering all over the world.

The Apostle Paul is trying to let the people understand about our freedom. The laws, or following it, did not set us free. The law is a reminder of our sin. For, if all men are free from the bondage of sin we won’t need laws. Romans 8:1-2, 15-17

For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death, declared the apostle Paul. Romans 8:1-2

Free Indeed:

Our debts are already paid on the cross. “If the Son (Jesus Christ – through his sacrificial work on the cross) set you free, you shall be free Indeed. (John 8:36 with my emphasis added)

“I am the door, if anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out to find pasture.

Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

The thief does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:9-10

These are the word of Jesus Christ. If you believe in him, you believe in the father because they are One.

The bloodshed on the cross is sufficient once and for all humankind. You don’t need to search more. It sounds so simple but once you know you’re set free it becomes a life-changing moment that further ensures our eternal life in the Kingdom of God.

Being Set Free:

We are being set free to be closer to him in every phase of life and what we been through with great humility before God for what he has done.

Not wanting to fall back in chains once we are free. Not searching for more which satisfies self but perform duties and obligations. Psalms 118:5

Not doing anything which may instill pride for it will degrade our soul and our God. Isaiah 61:6

As a free man and woman, a new creation in Christ, we are only dependent on the strength of God for day to day life with him. The blood was almost shed on Mount Moriah. And, after many years the blood is shed on Mount Calvary – once and for all.

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. 1 Peter 2:16-17

Set Free to Move Forward:

Set free yet not willing to move forward to join the race and not setting the goal deprives us of the joys of life here on earth as our would-be reward in heaven as well.

It is hard to accept that some of the new creations don’t even set their goal. They give up thinking it would be too tough. However, if you take it this way – a give back of our happiness for being set free is the gift of eternal life, it won’t be that hard.

Growing-the new Normal:

Once we’ve been set free, we can’t be stagnant. The spirit inside us gives peace, and also there is this infighting for the evil spirit to reclaim the vacuum. However, the infighting creates a wave inside us which makes us to grow in the likeness of Christ once the holy Spirit triumph over the evil spirit.

Being set free applies to all situations. We may fall yet we will rise again. There might be times we bite the dust but we will get up again although down for a while because we know we are free.

Using our Freedom:

Freedom is not doing something. Freedom is not without development towards a better future. It is doing something that our heart yearns for. Doing nothing is not freedom.

Freedom is to enjoy being with the Savior and in fellowship with Christ and in the spirit in all seasons of life.

Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God who set us free. (Refer Romans 8:38-39)

Doing good and suffering for our God, and the will to persevere for our Savior becomes the little effort of our living at out best for him although we will never be able to repay what he has done for us. Since we were already set free, and you’re now aware of it, let’s not live in bondage!

So let’s go to him for our freedom – not worrying about the outcome and the obligations it may ensue. And he will set us free.

We will be free indeed, if we believed in him. It is not of the world’s but far more superior than it. No one can snatch our freedom, which is inside us. Only then and when we meet our Savior face-to-face, we will know what freedom is all about in the Kingdom of God!
